At the Lazy Parrot Inn, we strive to deliver outstanding products, services, and experiences in Rincon, Puerto Rico. We value your business and, more importantly, your loyalty. We recognize that privacy is an important issue. We have revised our private policy statement to explain our practices regarding the personal information which may be collected, through this site, through written or verbal communications with us, when you visit our property, or from other sources.

While this Statement broadly describes the practices we have adopted for the Lazy Parrot Inn, additional local laws vary and some jurisdictions may place restrictions on our processing activities (e.g., certain jurisdictions may require affirmative consent to send marketing messages). Therefore, our actual practices in such jurisdictions may be more limited than those described herein in order to enable us to comply with local requirements. Effective May 25th, 2018, if you are from the European Economic Area (“EEA”), our processing of your personal data will comply with the Regulations (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Guest Bookings

If you wish to reserve accommodation we will collect the personal information necessary to handle your booking. This information normally includes:

Information related to any need you may have for special services

We use your individual information only to communicate with you about your reservation, to process your payments, to make arrangements for your comfort and convenience while you are our guest, and to advise you about personal items you may inadvertently leave during your stay.

Business records that contain your personal information (for example, room sales) are held for the period required by statute--during which period we will not delete your information. We keep your information in a computerized property management system. We take appropriate technical and physical measures to protect the personal data that we collect from unauthorized access or modification, improper use or disclosure, and loss or unlawful destruction. Our property management system use and storage of credit card information is certified to comply with PA-DSS supervised by the Visa Inc. program known as the Payment Application Best Practices (PABP). PA-DSS prescribes secure payment applications that do not store prohibited data, such as full magnetic stripe, CVV2 or PIN data, and ensure their payment applications support compliance with the PCI DSS.
