We can help you plan a large, custom poolside resort wedding, an intimate budget wedding in our garden restaurant gazebo, help you make your own no-frills 'elopement' arrangements or refer you to a wedding planner that can help plan your perfect Caribbean beach wedding.
The Lazy Parrot is the perfect place for large weddings - you can even take the entire resort for your special day! Our wedding planner can help you make all the arrangements for your special day using the full facilities of The Lazy Parrot, Smilin' Joe's Restaurant, The Rum Shack and The Seaglass Bar.
For guests who don't want a fancy custom wedding by the pool, Smilin' Joe's Restaurant offers a wedding package in our Garden Dining Room overlooking the pool, the hillside and the ocean in the distance. This is a great option for couples who want a fantastic wedding within a specified budget. Chef Joe and Lia from Smilin' Joe's and The Rum Shack had their own wedding here - so they know exactly how to help you plan your special day at The Lazy Parrot.
Some guests want to take care of Wedding arrangements by themselves and have a small intimate ceremyony - or get married at the town hall.
- First, you have to go to a laboratory first and take the blood tests (3
gonorrhea, chlamydia, and one more).
Cost is approximately $80.00 a person. It takes 3 to 5 business days to get the results. - Once you have the labratory results, you have to go
to the local "registro demográfico" with the blood tests.
You will need a $20.00 stamp (sello) that you get from the "Colecturía" to get the marriage license, - After this, you can go to the "tribunal, sala de jueces" to get the license approved.
- With your approved license, you can get married at the same office - or make arrangements with a pastor to get married. Local ministers generally charge approximately $250 (200.00 for his services and 50.00 for use of the church).
- Once the ceremony is completed, you'll receive a call from "registro demográfico" letting you know that your marriage certificate is ready.
While we don't handle these arrangements for guests at The Lazy Parrot, our staff is always happy to help steer you in the right direction and help with any questions. If you want someone to handle all the arrangements for you , please contact one of the Wedding Planners listed below.
Even though The Lazy Parrot is a short drive to the beach, many guests choose to have their wedding ceremony on the beach.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests return to The Lazy Parrot for their reception at Smilin' Joe's, The Rum Shack or poolside (depending on how many guests are staying at The Lazy Parrot).
Since we're not on the beach - we always recommend that you contact one of the following Wedding Planners to help you plan your beach wedding - they all have lots of experience working with The Lazy Parrot.
