We always advise people that The Lazy Parrot is a traditional Caribbean Bed & Breakfast Inn that appeals to adventurous travelers. While we have many guests that return to The Lazy Parrot year after year - we are not the right choice for everyone.

If you are expecting a Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton or other major hotel chain - The Lazy Parrot may not be for you....

However, if you want a casual, laid-back Caribbean experience with everyday value rates - we may be the perfect choice.

The best way for you to decide if The Lazy Parrot is right for your is to read reviews of past guests and look through our website - we've tried to provide a realistic view of what you'll find once you arrive at our hotel.

If you plan to arrive when the office is closed, please let us know in advance and we will arrange to leave your keys at the restaurant or bar.

Atlantic Zone - Same as East Coast US during the summer.

One hour ahead of East Coast USA during the winter months.

US Dollar Only - other currencies must be exchanged in advance. Banks in Rincon may not be able to convert most currencies.

There are many ATM machines in Rincon - locally known as ATH (a todos horas - at all times) machines.

Group rates are availabe on request. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all group bookings.

Parking & Arrival Instructions: When you arrive to The Lazy Parrot - you'll find plent of free parking just across the street. PLEASE leave your bags in your car when you first arrive at the hotel.

Easy Access: Go across the street and DO NOT GOT UP THE STAIRS at our main entrance - keep going to the right-side of The Lazy Parrot and you'll see the Bakery. Just after the bakery, there is a driveway that goes down to the lower level of The Lazy Parrot. Enter the gate near The Rum Shack and pass the pool to the main lobby and office - located next to the Parrotphernalia & more.... giftshop. After check-in, we'll let you know the easiest way to get to your room and find someone to help with your luggage if you need assistance.

Short Cut: Go across the street and up the stairs and you'll find the upper lobby and Smilin's Joe's Restaurant. The main lobby is on the lower level of the hotel in the aqua-blue building to the right. You'll have to go down several flights of steps - which is why we recommend you leave your luggage in the car! Once you check in, we'll advise the best way to bring your luggage and find someone to help if you need assistance.

Although the site is in Spanish, this site is easy to use. There are detailed road maps of all the smaller roads in Rincon and the surrounding area using Google Earth's technology.

Celebrating its 25th year, the Rincón Triathlon is the best-known in the Caribbean. The Rincón Triathlon, Inc., with the Puerto Rico Triathlon Federation, invites all qualified Triathlon Athletes to compete for the Fourth Caribbean Cup with Olympic distance and ITU points. This competition will be held in our beautiful beach town, Rincón, Puerto Rico, in June.

The Rincon Triathlon began in 1982, as an athletic activity by the Rincon Community Youth Center and Dr. Hector Nazario, on behalf of the Rincon Rural Health Initiative Project. It was so popular with the town community that it was repeated the following year as part of the activities related to the Santa Rosa Festival. After this successful second event, the Rincon Triathlon became an annual event and grew in size and popularity with the Triathlete community - held on the second Sunday of June.

Puerto Rico Surf Tours: PUERTO RICO SURF TOURS operates in NW Puerto Rico from november til april. (the prime surf season).   As cold fronts come off the eastern United States they send swells down to the Caribbean especially Rincon, Agaudilla and Isabella, PR.  (NW corner of island).
Puerto Rico is the "Hawaii of the East coast" for surfing.  World class waves, that surfers from all over the world come to ride each winter.  If you know where to go, you can save valuable water time, especially if your trip is less than 10 days.
